I wouldn't touch road-kill!
How did it die? How long has it been there?

When you can answer both those without doubt ... fire up the BBQ, I'l be right over.
It's roadkill, if you didn't see it killed, then do not touch it!.................

BTW: I once stopped at a café close to Thetford Forest, where I met a guy with a motorbike and a trailer, with several dead deer on it. He told me that he made his living by driving around the Thetford Forest roads early every morning, collecting all of the road kill and selling it to local butchers and restaurants.

Sorry Chris, but I would still not think of eating it!.......don't know know long ago it was killed, or whether there are any parasites there!.............no way!........still roadkill!.

The other major thing to consider, (I live in the western U.S. and there's lots of road killed larger game) having skinned a fresh road kill deer (ours weigh upwards of 150 to 250 pounds) for dog meat is that all of one side was bloodshot and bruised beyond use as well as several other parts of the animal.
Usually when an animal is struck by a vehicle, they fall and are run over or roll under the vehicle totally destroying the animal...
