well, i'm in a bit of a dilemma.
I have thin loin chops, that i usually flash fry with fennel seeds. Always tender and quite delicious. But, I haven't got enough so I'm also cooking four pork chops on the bone, which I would normally cook in oven in gravy.
I don't want to do two different things for one meal!

I'm sure the EU banned them with kidney attached a few years ago. I certainly haven't seen any for a good while, although I do tend to buy meat in the supermarket. It's the same with Brazil nuts - for a while you could not buy them in the shells and they've only started to reappear in the past couple of years.
I've had a quick poke around on the web and cannot find any hard evidence of chops with kidney being banned. Although I have found many acknowledgements of supermarkets not selling them. I can only suggest trying a butcher, because as I said mine certainly sells them.
The brazil nut issue was due to a carcinogen being found in the shells. Testing to confirm it was not present had to be undertaken before they could sold in the shell.
