Am I lazy?

Rather than buy individual fruit to make a fruit salad I buy the ready prepared ones as I like a mixture of fruit rather than say, one apple. As I'm the only adult in the house I can't be bothered to buy lots of different fruit and as I only go shopping once a week the fruit I can't eat on time will go mouldy.

Is this laziness?

If it's economical for you to do that way, then no.

Otherwise, yes, lol
No

I've tried explaning this to someone who thinks I'm being lazy.
not lazy at all in my opinion, tell the someone to get bent :)
I'm lazier than you. I'd rather drink a glass of cold water than wait for the kettle to boil. :-)

Seriously though, I think it would be cheaper and less time consuming to buy the fruit salad than make your own.
No, it's practical. It can however be an expensive way of doing it, but if you are otherwise buying and throwing away, it will balance out.

PS I ate my dinner cold last night rather than faff around heating it up in the oven (my microwave's broken).

PSS Queen of Laze here, many many years ago, I went out and bought then-OH a new shirt rather than iron an old one....

I'm glad you all agree.

I do the same with salads and stir fry veg. I get them for about a £1 each rather than paying more for the individual items altogether.

Lol Box. I have done the same with knickers. All of mine were in the wash basket and rather than wash them I went out and bought some new ones as I know they wouldn't dry in time for the next day. Didn't have a tumble dryer at the time.
If it's just for one then it is cheaper to do it your way (and a lot easier than all of that chopping, etc).

Hahaha... Boxy you cannot compete with me. Instead of going through my summer clothes to find my T-shirts, I buy new ones. And this happens almost every year! :-)

It is indeed AYG.
You have to save your energy for other nicer things tiggs.
Convinience rather than laziness, we all do it. I couldnt be bothered preparing a salad the other day. bought ready made. Was perfectly fresh.
I think the local fruit and veg shop have slightly better quality than supermarkets, but you tend to pay a lot more. I am torn as I like to support the local shops were I live, but I always seem to rushing so I choose convinience mostly (and nip to Tesco)

Indeed Starbuck.

I'd like to support them as well jd but I also have to think of my situation. I'm off shopping later to buy fruit and veg to make some food and desserts for Lt Tiggs. I'll be chopping and cooking most of the day but freezing lots of small portions so I don't have to do it for another two weeks.
What is a fruit salad anyway? We went to our local Harvester a while back and off the menu I ordered a fresh fruit salad - I was shocked when it arrived, it consisted of Sliced apple, half a dozen green grapes and a sprinkle of sultana's. Needless to say I sent it back & asked to see the chef. (he wasn't available) A large establishment like this should have known what a 'Fruit Salad was surely?
I complained to head office, they sent me a £20 food voucher, ( no apology) which I gave to my neighbour. Told her not to order the Fruit Salad.

jem
Question Author
The fruit salads I get have got loads of different fruit in them. Pineapple, grapes, oranges, apples, melon, watermelon, mango etc...... I'm not surprised you complained Jem. That sounds like a pee poor excuse for a salad.
