Animal farmers will often come and collect it, I think they use it as an addition to animal feed.
Since 31 October 2004 waste vegetable and rapeseed cooking oil from catering premises can no longer be used as an ingredient in animal feed.
waste vegetable and rapeseed cooking oils from food manufacturing and fresh or unused cooking oil, can continue to be used in animal feed.

So, ignore post #1.

Your local recycling centre should have facilities for oil disposal. Failing that, a local chippy might let you leave it for collection if you ask them nicely (and buy a fish supper).
You can put it back in the bottle and put it out with the rubbish, or my favourite dig a hole in the garden and pour it in.
Oh dear ...
Simply pour it down your sink... 30,000 Chinese and Indian takeaways can't be wrong...
When I had a deep fryer I did the same as PeaPod
When I saw Snags had answered, I expected his default answer of ''large plastic sheet and a webcam''.
I keep mine in an old fabric conditioner (a big one!) and when it is full I take it to my local tip. We are lucky enough to have good recycling where we live. Try the local council who should be able to advise you. Whatever you do don't tip it down the sink.
I tip it in the garden as well.

Is that bad?
It's minging.
My gardens minging...

Must ad though....I rarely deep fry anything so it seldom happens.
When cold pour in plastic bottle and take to local recycling centre where they should have a waste oil tank. Down the sink on in the garden is a complete NO NO.
They won't listen McM ...
I am listening...I will do that in future.

I tip mine down the sink, but first - put plug in bung hole, fill sink with boiling water and a load of washing up liquid then stir the oil in then pull the plug. The mixture of boiling water and washing liquid disperses the oil so it all run down the drain smoothly.
