Sweet potatoes

Does the sweet potato belong to the deadly nightshade family? I know the potato does, but was wondering about the sweet potato.

Sweet potato (the orange ones - Ipomoea batatas) Same order (Solanales), different family (convilvulaceae as opposted to Solanaceae). I didn't realise these weren't yams - so I've learnt something new today! Check out http://www.museums.org.za/bio/index.htm for a really good resource on taxonomy.
