My brother, aged 81 has been recently widowed and is trying to cope with cooking for himself. I am too far away to help. Does anyone know of a simple recipe book. He has a micro wave
A lot of the older people who lived near us at our last house used to get food delivered from Wiltshire Farm Foods. I think they come frozen and then he could just zap them.
I have seen an advert for Wiltshire Farm Foods - at the moment they have an offer of 7 main courses and 4 desserts for £19.95, delivered to your door free of charge. May be worth looking at
Hi mergal,
there's loads of simple recipe books out there available from most book stores like 'The word' / wh smiths / Waterstones. Just thinking though, a slow cooker is brilliant & easy to use & there are loads of books out there for slow cooking.
we have recently moved to sheltered accommodation and having a tiny kitchen without a window far too hot to use the conventional ovens. We now mostly have Wiltshire Farm Foods meals and as the variety is extensive have about a dozen favourites. Sainsbury also do a large variety of rfeady meals which are excellent. All these m eals can be heated in a microwave. We have been surprised at the quality. Try Sainsbury Classic Braised Steak and Mash= delicious!
Thank you to all those who answered my query re help for my widowed brother. I except the reply from "Hymie" which I assume to be an attempt at a joke.
