bubble and squeek

I have been told you must use onions then told no way what is the best way to do bubble and squeek, please un confuse me. WHF

Do you like onion? If so include it, if you don't then, errr don't.

B&S isn't an exact science, use what you have to hand.

Bubble and sqeak --gorgeous.
I dont add onions, only mashed potoato, veg and maybe bacon or whatever.
I cook mine till its lovely and crispy---scrumptious

thanks all for your replies, yes we do like onions, I always cook extra on a sunday so we can have BS for lunch on Monday, I will carry on doing it the way I have with the onions, and my neighbours can cook it their ways. WHF
