The possibilities are endless Brenda! Telling us if you are vegetarian or don't eat fish/spice/pasta, etc would have given us a head start.

If it's a casual catch up with a friend then a homemade lasagne with salad and garlic bread or a bowl of warming chilli and rice. Both easy to prepare in advance.

A chicken breast with fresh pesto, jersey royals and seasonal veg or salad.

Salmon fillet, new potatoes, asparagus and hollandaise (Maille make a not bad one, you'll find it amongst the condiments in the supermarket).

If you want a dessert Gu puds in the supermarket are good, the chocolate fondants with a few fresh raspberries and a dollop of creme fraiche is good. Or a tarte au citron with rasps or a coulis.

I could go on for ever but a bit more direction from you will help us help you.

Thanks for that funnygirl, will get my trainers on smartish.!
What time do people eat supper?
Umm, in our house supper is the evening meal, usually a casual single or maybe two courses. If your're invited to supper that's the kind of meal you'll get. If you're invited to dinner then there will be more courses and it's a bit more formal.

For some though supper is the snack before bedtime. You have to be a very special friend to get that kind of supper invite!

Thanks eccles --- will definitely have to phrase my come round for supper a little differently in future.!!
LOL @ Brenda. Enjoy your lasagne, you can't go wrong with comfort food, especially when it can be all be done in advance!
