Has anyone got a good rich tasty recipe for Goulash. I have bought some smoked paprika, green pepper and sour cream, but cant seem to find a recipe that seems tasty enough. Have got all the tomatoes and stuff also.
Thank you.
I made delia smiths recipe, with a few tweaks, and it was really delicious. Of you put 'Hungarian goulash' into the search box on this site, you'll find what I did. It really was scrumptious.
I do goulash quite often during cold weather- it's a firm favourite. I do it in the slow-cooker. You seem to have all the right things...but it won't taste right without caraway seeds.
There are lots of variations in recipes, just as there are for just about any dish. Having had goulash (several times!) in Hungary and Austria....the locals wouldn't dream of preparing it without caraway.
Thanks to all who answered my question about Goulash. Cooked it and was good but don't much like the smoked paprika. Think I will go back to the old fashioned stuff next time
