has anyone got or know a good recipe for a diabetic using canderel sugar (sweetner)
preferbly something cakey - i only have the basic cooking foods so i don't want anything mad!

Also i have already looked on the canderel site and made a cake from there and its horrible!

thanks x

Princess maybe you can find something on the Splenda website - here in the USA it is the brand that works in baked dishes - the carrot cake one looks good:

just make a normal cake, using sugar. the percentage of sugar in a slice of cake is very little, and in a cake using artificial sweetner you still have to count the carbohydrate value anyway. that's what i was told when baking for my son who was diagnosed at 10 years old (he's 25 now and it didn't do him any harm).
Ethandron is correct. The advice nowadays is to avoid the 'diabetic' foods and just enjoy normal things in careful moderation.
