Best Recipe for Pickled Onions...With a kick!!!

Iv been given a sack of small onions and been told to pickle em for my dads mates up the pub...Knowing my dad and co they'll want em with a bit of a kick!! Seriously harsh basically...Any one help?? For once the internet has failed me so far!!

ur right, lots of recipes do come up but nothing that stands out to have a kick about em!! still looking!

It depends on the spices you use.I used to do them years ago but It's such a lot of faffing about !
I used to get the pickling spice. Put plenty in ! You can also bung whole cloves of garlic and hot dried chillies in the jars if you like .
That'll give 'em a kick !

someone i work with once brought in a jar of onions they had pickled themselves. they were quite large ones - you couldnt put a whole one in your mouth!
he had made a hole through the centre of each one and pushed in a very small red chilli or a small jalepeno pepper then pickled them.
they were nice and hot! i havent tried it myself though
