One of my guests for Christmas lunch doesn't eat any meat at all, but likes everything else that goes the meal. Any ideas what I can serve her instead of turkey?

nickmo, that sounds wonderful. The problem is, apart from the sausages wrapped in bacon, she wants everything that traditionally accompanies turkey (even the yorkshire pudding, although I know that isn't traditionally served, but we have riots in our house if I leave it out - and it mustn't be Aunt Bessie's either!). Nevertheless, the fish sounds great and I will definitely try it another time - for all of us.
Glad to help - & have a happy one on the Day!
That's for that Nick, I love monk fish but i've not had snapper before - so i might try that. Sounds tasty!
Give them meat and say it's Quorn maaaaaaan

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
how would you like to be dished up quorn and told it was turkey mr-wonderful ?
naomi, checki with your guest first that she does eat fish as a lot of vegetarians dont eat fish either.

Im vegetarian and, like some have said, I have the quorn roast for my christmas dinner. It goes well with all the traditional things, especially cranberry sauce. Also, it can be kept in the fridge once it has gone cold and eaten cold, just like you can with turkey etc.

In answer to the comments about not eating meat looking/texture foods when a vegetarian, some people do not eat meat for health reasons and not for the whole not eating a dead animal reason.
try a cheese sandwich with sprouts, roast and mashed potatoes, parsnip, carrots and sage and onion stuffing.
it sounds awful but it is suitable for veggies.
