maris piper potatoes

hello and greets from the US.....i found a recipe from the F word website (i think gordon ramsey is great!!) and it included maris piper potatoes....if i was not able to find any in the country (which would not surprise me in the least, does anyone know of a good substitute??

Try King Edwards, Rooster or Cara if you can get them, or any floury type of potato you have over there!!!

thank you very much for the quick response...it spud hunting we go :-)

Roosters and cara's are irish potatoes and are the same as your reds and yukon gold, as for king edward they are a similar spud but none of them are floury which is what you need. Baking russets work fine as long as they are sliced and held in cold water for an hour, overnight is better in the fridge.
