Cake recipe for a 6" deep round cake tin please

Hi

Im looking for a recipe for a 6" deep tin for a cake that is going to be iced (which ive never done before!) for a rice paper topping to go on top.

If anone can help me i would be very grateful.

If you want to use a sponge cake recipe, then I would make two shallower cakes and sandwich them together, as making a 6" deep one will take much longer to bake, and may not cook evenly, if you must use the 6" then maybe look for a madiera cake recipe online, as for adding the topper, if you use just water icing, it needs to be stiff, I personally prefer to use Royal icing for this as it's stiffer and dries quickly, you need it to dry quickly, otherwise it can distort the rice paper topper.............hope it goes well!...
