Elite Dangerous

I remember playing the original Elite on a Commodore Amiga.

I've bought it and wondered about other players opinions.

is PC only, I am console monkey, PS4, xbone, 360 and PS3.

I had Frontier: Elite II on the Amiga and was fortunate enough to stumble on a lucrative trade route early on; in one direction it made me a small profit but the other way netted a massive amount of credits, so that it only took a few runs to be able to buy whatever I wanted. But having got all that wealth I got rapidly bored with just ferrying people around or the occasional mission.

The new game does look good - here's the official site btw http://www.elitedangerous.com/ - but I wonder if the gameplay will be more interesting.

It does look good but you do have to keep at it to upgrade your ships. You cannot just jump into the game and be a 'Topgun' pilot, trader or pirate after a couple of hours playtime. You've got to be in it for the long game. I've been a player in the Beta's so I've got a bit of a headstart.

Steep learning curve, which may not suit everybody. I didn't put any links up for the game, because I thought it might classed as advertising.

There's a lot of reviews etc on youtube if your interested.

I have it and I was elite on the Archimedes, the new game is amazing, all the feel of old elite but on steroids, it is much more complicated than old elite but so worth it, there is a lot to learn initially but it hasn't taken me long to get used to it.

make sure you have a good graphics card, I had to upgrade mine
