Has anyone successfully taken their bank to court to get charges back?

There has been a lot of media coverage recently about being able to claim back all your bank charges over the last six years by taking them to the small claims court. Many websites now have sample letters of what to send and instructions on how to go about it. Has anyone been successful yet?

A friend of mine did it and got �3000+ back.

He had been made redundant three times and was often overdrawn and incurring charges.
