Its a standing joke at work (amongst us gamers) that the prime time for meeting up in a lobby is between 9-10pm when the wifes have watched their soaps and have either; fallen asleep; having a bath; reading a book.

Now with Big Brother being on at 9pm, TV is booked :-(

Get yourself a wife who never watches TV ;)
(or a second TV for the xbox)
My oh has free access to the TV and xbox as I NEVER watch telly.
So she won't notice when you sneak off to the lobby ?

Tsk. I was in a great lobby last night in Forza. The americans were arguing; I'd found someone as slow as me to battle it out with for 7th and 8th and I get told to switch off!

LOL OG, sounds almost perverted!

Isn't gaming in one room while your wife watches TV in another room every night bad for your marraige? At least when you both watch TV you do it together. Also when you are married and got children don't you think you're too old to be playing video games and you should have grown out of it?
i would have thought it would have been mainly a pastime for single people, school kids and students.
No it's healthy to have different interests......

I'm 42 and tea bagging with the best of 'em!

I agree with Booldawg when it comes to online racing I found that 1st was more often than not way out of my reach in most lobbies but as long as there is someone else to compete with it is still fun. Over time you fill your friends list with players of equal ability.
I am 43 and female and a gamer. I am the one sitting in the other room gaming on the PC whilst my other half (male) sits and watches endless repeats of Top Gear on Dave. He sometimes logs into FFXI so we can game together.
Daffy, you go girl!
Trigger - "sorry dave but you are out of touch, the age range of my friends list goes from 9 to 62, Reg the oldest plays Call of Duty nightly and is a right camper." what is a camper in this context? Does being beaten by a 9year old hurt more than being beaten by an adult?

My brain works too slow and my attention span is too short to play most of the games. I like word games and card games. I know that makes me boring - but it keeps me happy.
A camper is someone who does not move and maintains a strategic advantage. It is considered unsporting by some to do this. In fact the 1st CoD had an anti-camping feature built in when if you didn't move for a certain period of time it would kill you.

Age is pretty much irrelevant as online everyone is equal as obviously you do not know who you are actually playing against. Age becomes more obvious when the messages start arriving however!
