Intel i7 Q840 1,97Ghz
Hi
Jusy bought a laptop from my brother-in-law. Dell xps 1558 studio with Intel i7 Q840 1,97Ghz, 4Gb RAM and a Radeon 5470 with 2772 Mb (?) graphics card. Paid £430. I am a games fan (FPS - Dooms, Call ofDutys, Biospheres etc) and have been playing on my old Dell vostro with a 2,1 Ghz core 2, 2gb Ram and a geforce gt8600m with 512 Mb. All have been fine but had to reduce graphics settings with biosphere 2- no prob as I'm not that concerned about graphics quality
I wanted to upgrde so as to play some of the newer games like battlefield, crysis and farcry3 (when it comes) and thought I needed more power.
I know there is a newer i7 (sandy bridge) out and have seen mediocre reviews of the radeon 5470 (not sure how much gpu memory they used on the tests)
Any comments on this i7 q840 and or the graphics card?
Are there any changes to the whole system that I would have to make as regards setting/selecting processor speed and setting up the graphics card or would it be like my old vostro where you just load the game and play?
Mnay thanks for your patience
