Anyone have any recommendations of PC games suitable for my son (age 12)

He likes minecraft and skyrim/oblivion. Nothing too graphic or COD type.

World of Warcraft-my daughter has been playing since she was 11 and loves it:)
wows a brilliant game to get into, i really enjoy it, im currently playing kingdoms of amalur on the xbox and thats great the stories easy to follow and its really bright and interesting, or the fable games are excellent

Thanks NOX, i'll go check that out.

thanks Jenni, i'll look into that too :o)
You might get more answers by using the correct category?
Question Author
That's a bit of a bizzare response!

Why is "Gaming" not the correct category for a question about gaming Toureman? Okay, I could have used a sub category but chose not to. It's not like I asked under Business & Finance or anything. I am genuinely curious as to why you have bothered to post here, I have always found you extremely helpful in the past and that just seems a bit odd.

....and I didn't need any more replies, got two excellent ones, bought the games and No1 son is delighted. Thanks again NOX and Jenni, quality not quantity!
i used to play runescape once upon a long time ago. I got totally addicted to it, was so much fun and its free roam like skyrim and the characters are similar.
only thing is, its an online game so you would have to connect to the internet everytime he wants to play.
its still going now as i logged in the other day!
I'm a member of 'Big Fish Games' club-their website is amazing. They have all the different game types to choose from including games for kids. You can down load all their games for one free hour so you can see what games will be suitable for your son.Have fun
If you just type in Big Fish Games it will come up.I play under the name of 'carolthescot' :0)
I also meant to say at 'Big Fish Games' they have online games to play as well ;0)

thanks lumination, he plays Minecraft on on-line servers so that wont be a problem - i'll pass that on to him

Thanks also Candy, i'll look into that too.
annie - 3 things about WoW 1) You have to pay a subscription after 30 days to keep playing 2) After you have bought the first game there are about four add ons. 3) It is really and I mean really addictive.

So check out the costs before you buy and make sure you keep an eye on playing time.

It is a great game.
ratchett and clank; any sonic the hedgehog ones, burnout, f1 games or football if he is into that (fifa) x
Question Author
oops dave - already bought it - it was only about £6 not sure if he has even opened the box though :)
Question Author
thanks lgc - he's not into football or sports at all - I think he had rachet & clank for the PS3, but he doesn't touch the PS3 at all anymore....or the Wii, computer is king!! He used to love Sonic though :)
I don't think you realize how graphic skyrim is, I think Skyrim is more graphic than Cod anyday. Anyway I'd say Fable 3 because its similar to Skyrim and Oblivion, and its a really good game. All i'm saying is if you let your son Play Skyrim! then theres no reason why you don't let him play Cod, because online more 12 year olds play modern war fare 3 than any other age.

But like I said If he likes Skyrim then Fable 3 is your best bet, or like the others sugested you could subscribe him to online games such as Runescape, World of War Craft and Guild Wars.
Question Author
Thanks tom, i'll look into that one.

It's the fact that COD is more human that puts me off it - skyrim is more fantasy so doesn't bother me so much.none of his friends play COD but other kids in the class do - mainly the ones that spent years bullying him so can't say he is that fussed about playing it.
So difficult to recommend anything especially when all the better stuff seems to be 18+ ;-)
I used to like Civilization when I was younger, if he likes strategy. Little action in it though. And SMAC I used to like too. Not played either for ages though.
Ok Ann watch this for me, just so you get an idea.
