Xbox360 audio connections

bit lazy of me! I'm at work so not got my console in front of me.

Are there separate phono connections on the back the the 360? I want to connect audio to separate speakers rather than through the tv via the HDMI lead.

I've only got an older Elite model but there are not phono connections on the console itself but there are on the connecting cable.
I assume this cable is still supplied as standard with newer models.

cheers matt - I'll have a fiddle around.

The reason is the sound on the TV has gone kaput. I've got round it by using external PC speakers plugged into the Sky box - this works fine for TV viewing but of course not for the Xbox.

I need to either route the xbox audio through the Sky box or directly into the speakers.

I use optical audio via a home cinema kit.

I will have to Google that! sounds very posh and hi-tech!

Not at all but its just one cable that can provide 5.1 sound rather than 2 cables to provide stereo.
