Are these greedy buggers making a rod for their own backs by putting the price up?

I think sales may drop for a while, but folk soon forget and will start playing the Lottery again.

Am I right in thinking that they are also going to increase the prizes too?
A lottery ticket isn't a necessity and consequently it is entirely up to the potential customer to decide if the price is right for them.
The prize fund will rise but not by the same percentage of the increase. Camelot are supposed to be running a public lottery they are doing anything but. The millionaires lottery is a raffle, I always understood a raffle to be optional, also if you consider say 20 million entries are made to each and every Euro lottery that equates to 10 million pounds for each and every millionaires raffle. What is happening to the other weekly 9 million. A periodic super millionaires raffle hardly accounts for the deficit? As a national lottery the accounts should be freely available for scrutiny.
The lottery is a stupidity tax.
I don't know, what do you think TWR?
I must admit to a little confusion as to why you are concerned about the French Loto, do you play that as well as our Lotto?
