Is anyone eagerly anticipating the unveiling of the new xbox 720 today? This could almost be in the 'News' section making a much needed diversion from gay marriage debates and broken britian.

lol society. I'm also happy with my Nokia 3310.

TBH I'd like to see whats new with the xbox but expect it'll be at least 2 years before I get one. I cant beleive we'll be at the point whereby we look at our old 360s with the sort of disdain usually reserved for a PS1 or original Xbox.

Xbox 360 - appearing at a car boot near you!
xbox 720, I wouldnt know what it was if it jumped up and bit me, I just know its some sort of gaming thing!

I'll be streaming live from the live event player on ye olde 360.

I think games will hardly get a mention tonight. CoD Ghosts, Forza and Rise and that'll be it.

It will all be about the extras such blu-ray drive, Skype, Kinect 2.0 etc etc

The big question is....will they show it off or wait as Sony have done?
I hope they show it - the main choice for the next generation is which looks better in your living room.
With E3 just a few weeks away they will keep most of the stuff for then but will surf the wave of anticipation and excitement into their main press conference.

Illumiroom will also be a big feature tonight I think.
Looks to add quite a good degree of immersion to gaming and other media.
I don't think it will be called a 720. The front runner for a name in Xbox Infinity (the symbol ∞)
Seems most likely. It would also (kind of) tie in with Windows 8.

If not then just plain 'Xbox' could be re-used.

"Illumiroom will also be a big feature tonight I think."

I'm not sold on the concept so I hope they don't go too "all in" on it.

Trigger, I think they may be right - could nothing but a little ankle flash today.
Heard it will be reasonably priced too in order to compete with the other consoles.
If there's any money left after my hols, Mr Chill may well have to treat himself.....
I haven't played a console since the days of 'manic miner' and 'jet set willy' on the zx spectrum.
"Heard it will be reasonably priced too in order to compete with the other consoles. "

Pricing is going to be very interesting this gen. Sony have already said that they will not make a loss on the consoles this time round which suggests a higher than usual price point - £399 maybe?
Microsoft will then price similarly but I suspect a bit of a behind the scenes love-in this gen as MS will have Sony's blu-ray and I would guess MS will let them have their Skype.
