I found this story when looking for something else (have forgotten what it was) and thought that I would share it.
I suppose their plan seemed to make sense at the time but the long term ramifications of their scheme might make them question whether it was worth it.
I'm waiting for the supermarkets to drop the price for a few weeks; they did that with Skyrim. Think it went down to £30 but a few weeks later was back to full price. Maybe the lull in initial sales prompted the discounted price and then the spike in sales hiked it back up?
The prices are silly for these games. Luckily I don't play games apart from Scrabble. I pity the poor parents who have a child whining on and on for a game that ALL their friends have.
