Is your sister logged into a Microsoft account? According to the Minecraft site, you now need one to be able to play the game:

I am interested because I have the same problems now, and I cannot find an appropriate way to resolve the problem. You've come up with some good updates. Have you thought about sending them as an official letter to the developers? It seems to me that they will not mind considering them as real projects. However, I do not know how technically it will be possible to implement some points.

You may need to log in to your account (login = mail). Did it work? Then put the game on, log in to the launcher (also, login = mail) and play. Look for the problem in the previous step and at what stage it didn't work out.
