driveways on sims 2

i've just added sims glamour life to my sims 2 and now when i want to put a driveway in, it won't let me. it's there cos i can't put anything else there, but just won't show it. please help

could it be because you dont have sims nightlife, because i think you can only get garages and cars with that one?

No, we installed nightlife before glamour life. But i will try installing it again just to make sure, thanks.
