Hi,
Does anyone know why the official Playstation site and many forums say you need a Network Access Disc for PS2? I have never ordered one yet I can play Call of Duty 2 online. What does this access disc do?

Many thanks.

I used it to setup the network card but most games come with a utility to set it up too so it's not really necessary.

well that's what I would have thought OBonio. I am not a big gamer and don't have a lot of games but so far Call of Duty is the only one I have got to work. The rest of my games all have this set up utility but just don't work. I bought Socom 3 last night and was frustrated that it doesn't work either. I get the impression now that there must be more to it. Socom 3 at least i think asks for some sort of handle code which I think maybe ties into this access disc. I'm at a loss. I will order one anyway and see what happens then.
