saving pc game dilema

hi i just started to play a old pc game adventure one called syberia it is quite long and i got half way throught but then with 5the game been old it has got scratched and so crashes at a certain part ( i cant take it back as i bought it ages ago) so i am going to buy the game again ( i can get it for about a fiver) !BUT when i then install this new disk will it clear all my saved game off my old one and iwill i have to start from the beggining again or will i still be at my last saved point x

If you reinstall it, it may ask if you want to save the game so far. If not , then you can get a walkthrough from www.justadventure.com to get you back to where you left off reasonably quickly. I am playing Syberia 2, it is taking forever but worth it. I admit I've used a walkthrough a couple of times where some stuff can get boring when you get stuck in one place for too long.
