How Cool is the Nintendo Wii ?

seems like a genius idea to me although i haven't got one yet. Hopefully i will get one in the new year.

dunno...seems like novelty value to me.the ps2 eye toy was great.......at first but once the novelty wears off you soon long for a game where you can sit on yer backside and chill !

It's brilliant, nothing remotely like the eyetoy which is primative in comparison.

Having got one I can tell you it's way better and much more sophisticated than you imagine, Wii sports for example looks like a simple little demo of the remote but once you get into it it is amazingly complex, a subtle flick of the wrist for example makes all the difference during ten pin bowling.

However, what they do need to be carefull of is making games which try to use the controller when it doesn't need to. For example I have a racing game and the control system is difficult to use and doesn't add anything to the game.

But it is far from novelty in my opinion, everybody goes on about the future being vitrual reality, what's more real, pressing a button or swinging your arm when playing tennis. When it's done right on wii sports for example it's brilliant.

if i had 1 id have to either not play it by a window or close the curtains coz i dont want no1 seeing me swining my hand like a lunatic, i think it would be a good idea if ninty released a controller so you could sit down on your ass and play the game like other console games

Personally I love it but we have a 360 as well for the more complex games, I cant see us buying loads of games for it over and above the 360. The kids are going to love it!!! We have been playing it when the kids are in bed and we are giving them it for Xmas, it was an extra present which we didnt think we would get so they are getting rather spoilt this year!
