I am gonna be getting my son an xbox 360 for Christmas (yeah I know its a while away lol) but it is difficult to get it online to play? Also are there any problems to worry about with this? viruses etc (I know I'm thick ) and will he be able to 'talk' to people online through this? Thanks
You cannot get any sort of virus. The only problem with the live service is the amount of abuse your child would come across on it. He could receive it via a headset or a message sent in text form to his 360. I sold mine due to the swearing that is continually used on it, i did not feel it wise to let my 11 and 13 year old sons listen to such vile language.
Theres whats known as a friends list, of he knows other ppl who have the 360 with LIVE then he could add them to this list , if your son is a member of the xbox forums he can add members tags from the forums, if he were t play with people his own age over LIVE
Problem is though, you can fill your friends list with all your friends, then enter a room full of morons and get sent voice/text messages.Trust me i know, i ran clans on the 360 all over Europe.
You can send text messages, he will have to block all communications. What is the point of playing on line, if you can not hear / speak to the other players ?
