USA Bought Nintendo DS

Does anybody know, if I buy an Nintendo DS online from a U.S. store, will it work once I get it here. (Talking mainly about the power adaptor etc.)

You will need to buy a UK power adaptor which is rated at 240 Volts. The U.S. one will be rated at 110V and have a 2 pin mains plug instead of the 3 pin UK style.
As far as I know there is no difference in the game carts, so buying from abroad or from the high street will be no problem.

Do't forget that if it comes into this country from the USA, customs will charge you for importing it. You will need to pay VAT on it @ 17.5%.
Same goes for stuff bought from abroad on ebay.

I was going to buy the Zelda game in the states when I was there a few weeks ago but was told by the guy in the game shop that they are coded differently in the US and won't work on UK consoles.

The Nintendo DS is region free in the sense that any console will run a Nintendo DS game purchased anywhere in the world; it is the same system everywhere. However, the Chinese version games can only be played on the Chinese iQue DS, whose larger firmware chip contains the required Chinese character glyph images. Nintendo DS of other regions cannot play the Chinese games, while iQue DS can play games of other regions. Also, as with Game Boy games, some games that require both players to have a Nintendo DS game card for multiplayer play will not work together if the games are from different regions (e.g. a Japanese Nintendo DS game may not work with a North American Nintendo DS game, though some titles, such as Mario Kart DS, are mutually compatible). With the addition of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, certain games can be played over the Internet with users of a different region game.

I ordered a red DS from Best Priced Brands on the net on Monday, ,17 December at 4:30 pm for �144.00 GBP including shipping. It was immediately dispatched from California and I tracked it all the way through Kentucky and Pensylvania to the UK via the UPS website- it arrived today at 10:50 am- it came with a power supply adapter for UK use! I think they are still saying xmas delivery and have all colours in stock!
Best service ever- from order in California to door in 42 hours!
