xbox 360 live MTU problem
3 Answers
I was trying to set up xbox live with a router and broadband combo system connected by a wireless USB pen included with the package. It started to connect on Xbox live, running tests and it came up with a problem with the MTU settings. Also, on my pc, I installed the pen and broadband software but could not connect due to a problem with the username and password. I'm using Zyxel G-202 wireless usb adapter and Zyxel P-660H/HW Series router. Can anyone help?

My 360 is hard wired straight into the router with an Ethernet cable for simplicity, if you have the option to do this, then it;s much easier and a more reliable connection. If you're going wireless on the 360 I assume you have the Microsoft wireless adaptor as that's the only thing that will work - gotta love Uncle Bill :)
You shouldn't need to install any software for the router as they will run without it, the USB wireless dongle does need software though which you've done. Is it your router that wants a password to connect to it, or is it your ISP wanting a password? If your router is wanting a password to connect to it properly, then you should find a wireless key somewhere in your documentation which is probably what you're missing

As an addition, when you run a connection test on Live, read what it says about the MTU test. It will tell you what you need to have the setting at in your router set to make it run properly.
The usual way of accessing router settings is to type an IP address into your internet browser which varies from router to router so check your instruction manual

thanks very much for your help Cakeboy. I'll take a look at what you said and give it all a try. I took back the router, found out it was't compatable with the 360 even though the guy said it was in the shop before I bought it. I'm gonna try an orange live box if I can and the microsoft wireless adaptor, should work *fingers crossed*
