Does anyone believe you can really win anything big on these poker sites? Someone I know is convinced they are going to win a quarter of a million!!!!!! Whats the catch??

I play poker on partypoker.com and regularly win ( & lose).
You hear far too many myths about it being fixed but its not if you get beat you get beat.
There are many good sites, the trick is start small and expect the first few games to lose a few quid.
If you play live poker it is totally different from online.
Play 1 dollar games etc or small tourneys or sit and gos.
If you play cash tables even for five or ten dollars if you win a few hands move on to another table, you find you win more money!!!

Hmmm, i play on partypoker too, and also win. not won quarter of a mil yet, but i only play on the $3 and $11 buy ins...

If your lucky enough to get to the final table of a major ranking tournament, of which 1000's of people enter, the prize money gets into 100's of thousands of $'s. So yeah, all the hype is right. If your good, and lucky enough. But you have to be dedicated.
