Transfer pics from mobile to 80gb PS3

is this possible?? We have usb, says it does not recognise

Do you mean not recognizing the usb memory stick ,the phone or the photo files?
My ps3 works with all my usb memory sticks so yours should as well.
If you mean that it doesn't see your phone when conected by usb,then just transfer them to a pc first and then onto a memory stick.
things to try.
1. Try restarting your PS3 with the memory stick or phone already plugged in.
2. If the stick has a partition on it ,delete it.
