I got in from work at about 6.30pm, and could hear music in my (empty) house. after a thorough search I realised it was coming from the house next door. I tried to ignore it but after half an hour of the music being louder than my tv, I knocked on the door and asked very nicely if it could be turned down a little bit. the man said he couldn't hear it but it must be his daughter upstairs.

about half an hour ago I actually banged on the wall! it stopped for about 10 minutes.. and started again.

I know it's not late but I'd really like to unwind, and I'm feeling very wound up! I was thinking about putting some music on and really blasting it.. but I really just want some peace.

advice please.....

turn your TV up, work out which room the duaghter is in, then wait.

get up at 6, put a stereo against the wall and then turn it up full

Finally, go out for a few hours

:)
knock on the door

ask them politely to turn it down

if they refuse, hit them with a very large stick

problem solved
If you're being an old bag, then I'm one too. The last place I stayed at the neighbour oklayed loud music all evening and well into the night and it ****** me off like you wouldn't believe.

She used to play the same blimin song over and over....needless to say I can't stand Crazy Chick by Charlotte Church.
well if they always play loud music then I would get my bulldog face on, If its just a one off I would cut them some slack

Awww sis :( Well if it was that loud then I don't blame you!

We used to that a similar problem with our former neighbour, I don't know how he could bear to be in his flat as you could hear it through the wall, bedroom wall, lounge wall in the lounge!

I was having a grumpy moment on a bus the other night with some yoof sat behind me one side with his "noise" (hold old do I feel saying that!) blaring and the side side had some of the local youth offenders effing and blinding and going on about what they'd been done for....argh!

to be fair, it doesn't happen often.. it's just been a long week and it's getting RIGHT ON MY NERVES!

the daughter sleeps on the other side of the house, but I reckon it's his girlfriend playing the music.

I quite like the large stick theory! I have to pick my daughter up in an hour so could leave some loud music on while I'm out...

there you go, leave your music on and go out in a bit.

make sure its one really naff song and on repeat
Question Author
thanks for the armchair knobby.. sometimes you really surpass yourself ;o)
Question Author
red, I don't have "naff" music!

well, I probably do really!
I can recommend Crazy Chick by Charlotte Church! LOL
no matter how many albums you own there is always something hidden on one of them that is naff.
I really hate that song!!!
Question Author
I don't have any Charlotte Church!!!!

oh, listen... it's gone quiet!
Me too!

I saw download Steps on MP3 or that Same Difference...
contact your local council, they will sort it out
Nah, yoof kept his toof lol :)

Ooh, if she's a right girly type I recommend a bit of RSTM - Killing in the Name Of, or a bit of 9 Inch Nails or similar.

she's 17. surely I need to blast Guns n Roses or Nirvana. she might like the girlie stuff (I'd say she does judging by what I can hear!).
