After initially looking forward to Kinect but then being put off over the pricing I took the plunge for Xmas and have to say it is incredible!

The sports game is great with all games being very enoyable. The footie game is highly adictive and altho cutesy it is not that big a leap to see a more full on footie game that better utilises the tech.

Any ABers with Kinect?

I've heard it supposed to be pretty good. I usually think 'gimmick' when something like that gets released. Friends have said good things about it - even serious gamers
What's the latency like? Every demo/advert/whatever that I've seen makes it look 'laggy'.
Question Author
Latency practically non-existent.

MS are listng this as their biggest gaming priority in 2011 so I dont think it will be a gimmick.

It will be good to see what devs come up with for it in terms of more serious games. I can see the Michael Jackson game being huge for it as only with Kinect is full body motion monitored just a shame I lack almost any rhythm!
Would you rate it better than Playstation Move ?
The children got one as a 'joint' present. However, there wasn't enough space in bedroom they were using so we have had to tidy out them conservatory and buy yet another tv for them to play it on. (They love it though.)
Question Author
I would say its better than move simply as its full body movement.
I love the kinect, but sometimes the games get on my nerves when they want to calibrate. Also some of the games take forever to load.
how much room (space) do you need for the kinect? does it have the delay that the Gadegt Show complained about? TIA
^^, as the OP said, "Latency practically non-existent."
