I was bought Splinter Cell Double Agent for Christmas but when it started to load i got a message saying "Disk is dirty or damaged". Considering it was a brand new disk i was a little preturbed. I exchanged it for another disk, again a brand new one, but got the same message at the exact same point of loading. Now i was wondering if the shop had a dodgey batch so i got a full refund and went and bought a third disk from a different retailer. Guess what, same problem at the exact same point of loading again. All of my other games work fine so i can't understand why this one doesn't. I have cleaned the lens and made sure the disk is spotless but still no change. Has anyone else had the same or similar problem and if so how did you rectify it? Please help me as i am desperate to play episode No4 of the best stealth game created.

to me it sounds like your xbox needs repairing.

you might need to send it to Microsoft for them to have a look at it. if your xbox is under warranty they will try to fix it for free. if not you will probably have to pay. contact Microsoft ad see what they can do.

whats that link got to do with his problem ?

load it on a friends xbox to prove if it is dodgy or not but i would suspect your dvd drive is on its way out.

Thanks people. I've been really lucky believe it or not. It turned out that the first game had saved a damaged file to the memory, without me knowing. after finding a saved SCDA file on the memory and deleting it i reloaded the game. IT WORKED...........................YIPEEEEEEEEEEE. Must have been the file rather than the actual disk causing the problem. All sorted now and playing happily :)
Thanks for your help though, i appriciate it greatly.
mattk if u read it properly it has a freephone link at the bottom
