I have just purchased Xbox Live for my 360 and was wondering what the best games were to play online? I know most people say the various Shoot em Ups and I do like these but would also be interested in knowing what other types of games are good.

Burnout Paradise - lots of free extra content
Battlefield Bad Company

are three that I play regularly online and stil have a good strong online community. A lot of older games have very little online activity as people have obviously moved on to newer games. You'll find a few die-hard players usually, but they're very good at it and the game isn't that fun for a new player as a result.

Ive played fable online and its good, i like it, see if you can rent some of the following: fable 2, call of duty 4/5 and fallout 3, if you rent them and it turns out you dont actually like it then you have only wasted a couple of pound as opposed to buying the game and wasting alot of money,

a lot of arcade titles are good mp games.

I like spades myself. (gt Doomey)

Saints row 2 is a lot of fun in coop story (although its glitched right now)

Viva Pinata 2 is a nice game for all the family to play online.

There is a bunch of games I could recom' in honesty..

I also recommend Fable 2 very much so...

Left 4 dead has a whole online co-op campaign. And it works brilliantly. Call of duty 4 and World at war are great online aswell. If you aren't into shooters you can't really go wrong with Fifa.
