I have a bit of a problem with my ps3. A red light flashes until the power button is pressed and when i hold the power button to turn the console on it beeps the light turns green and almost instantly turns yellow then red again while beeping three times.

I don't think this is the yellow light of death as it happened when we first purchased the console and it worked after about an hour of tinkering however i've set it up in my new house and it hasn't worked for a week or so.

What should I do?!

Hi, been looking on the net and can't really find a definative answer. Could be motherboard, could be faulty cooling fan, some mention faulty HDD. Suffice to say it sounds like you're gonna have to ship it away for repairs. If there's a game disc stuck in it there are ways to get that out as a temporary measure. I've had my 60Gb PS3 for nearly 3 years now and it sometimes freezes when it overheats but always comes back after its cooled down but i've never experienced the problem you've described (and don't want to either!). Best of luck RD.
