Genes reunited
I have just rejoined the standard £12 membership, and havent had the free credits they advertise. Got email reply that you only get it the first time. Didnt see that. Should I let it drop or complain again? also, when your ancester from 100 years ago has a common name, even in specific area (poss cousins) is birth cert the only (expensive) way of finding out? TIA

I don't think there's anything you can do about the credits on GR as it will be hidden somewhere in their T&C's.
I find the best way to check on ancestors with similar names is, if possible, by their wedding certificates, as you get 2 father's names for the price of one.
If you would care to give what details you have I will check on-line for a possible parish record e.g. banns for a father's name.
