mum was married at heptonstall in 1950 i was baptised at mytholm st michaels in 1955 and sylvia plaith was buried at heptonstall in 1963.

Ummmm, just a bit of nit picking. Cork where GD came from is the second largest city in the RoI . Cobh is situated on Cork harbour one of largest natural harbours in the world and under the name of Queens town was a major naval base. From Cobh to Cork is about a twenty minute train ride so while Cobh is in County Cork it's not in Cork.

last time we were there was in about 1997 and it was quite overgrown, plus a very hot day ,we were looking for Lumbs and Normantons at the time. i was born up cragg vale.

Yorkshire on both maternal and paternal side back to late 1600s. Haven't been further back than that.

On Mum's side haven't found anybody born outside of Lincolnshire and I'm back to 1770's in parish registers
Mums side came over from Ireland and took over Wales then in 1920s invaded Birmingham. Now we are strewn all over the world. Dads side is Black Country / Birmingham through and through like a stick of rock. Me & OH are from brummieland but our son is definitely Yorkshire and proud of it
