My great uncle, Robert Goodlass died on 17.04.1917. He was injured on the 13th. His injury on his medical records give G.S.W. (gun shot wound) to the head, but on his casualty form it says C.C.S. shrapnel. What is C.C?S?
Perhaps they found a bullet and shrapnel. He could have been a bit of a mess. He was a stretcher bearer in the medical corps so he would have been standing when hit.
