Which war March?
WW2 records are still classified and have to be applied for through the MoD

Sorry Shoota WW1 please? I have a date of death and grave location from CWG but am trying to find service record and whether there is a medal card too .......

Thanks Craft ............. Alfred Samuel Foster. Sgt in 1st Batt Royal Scots Fusiliers. Died 25.10.1916 at the Somme. Regiment no I have is 10500 but that is giving nothing (service or medal card) on Ancestry. Very grateful if you can help!
Not doing too well here, I can't find him on the CWG site......
I'm stumped as well March..............I've searched through Ancestry and TheGenealogist and can't find anything.
Someone on another forum was also searching for records re the Royal Scots Fusiliers and they were told 70% of their records had been lost during WW2.

Thank you Craft ...... do you think perhaps he didn't have any medals? Was there a standard WW1 campaign medal awarded to all armed forces personnel?
