I am looking to find who lived at a specific address in 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871 & 1881 ................ and am struggling using all the methods I know to find the correct census pages on Ancestry. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
Apologies Mosaic ... I just didn't understand what you were saying ...... have re read now ....... I don't believe it would be a boundary change due to location near centre of large town .... but I may be wrong.
And Baldric ..... post what you like ...... I have already explained the reason for the "dual identity" and as this was now over a week ago I assume the Ed have forgiven my (misdemeanour ........ I found the fact that your criticism when I had already explained really quite minor error most uncalled for and unnecessary!
Craft .... Hello ..... apologies for not replying sooner but I hadn't seen your kind offer until now ......if the offer still stands it is Walsall, Staffordshire x
Sorry no help at all. I found the address in 1911 and 1901, it's in the ecclesiastical parish of St Michael and All Angels.
It wouldn't bring me an address search for before 1901 so I did an ecclesiastical search by district and still couldn't find it. I couldn't find it on ancestry, the genealogist, or findmypast.
Craft ........ Thank you so much for trying for me ....... appreciated. .............. and Baldric ..... no not best answer ........ but I can give you the award for cheekiest/most persistent ....... Any good? ? ;-)
jennykenny and anyone else who's interested, you can overlay the OS 1895 map on Google maps here and use the slider bar to toggle between them. There are others besides London
