I have a book, a true account of a murder and trial that took place in 1924/5, which was first owned by H. Fleetwood Hesketh. He has signed his name in ink and written the date 1934 inside the front cover.

This gentleman (I'm presuming that it is a man rather than a woman by the handwriting) has also made copious notes and observations in pencil inside the book. These interest me a great deal.

I see that there are records of a Fleetwood Hesketh family on the 1911 Census but only one with the first initial H, a woman.

Can anyone suggest who the previous owner of my book may have been? I am curious.

I have had a quick look at this family and I guess that the owner of the book was Charles Hesketh Fleetwood Hesketh born 1871 Childwall, Lancashire. In 1911 he was a barrister, and it seems feasible that he may have been interested in a book about a murder trial. He died in 1947, so possible.
