i have found a married couple, the wife was born Queens Coy, Ireland, the husband, kings Coy, Ireland, am i right in thinking these are the Kings Own Yorks and Qeens Own Yorks regiments but stationed in ireland? If so this is ace, will keep me busy all year!!!!

(got zapped for over posting on the steam locomotove thread in history grrrr)

Oh no i didn't it's just this site being dozy! grrrr
I'm a frayed knot, Dot.

Queens Coy = Queens County = what is now Laois.

Kings Coy = Kings County = Offaly.
oh thanks for that hammond egg, still means I've alot to do but hey ho!
I don't know if it's relevent but Cork was once called Kingstown & Cobh was called Queenstown
