I needed to find where someone is buried and used www.ancestry.com to find them. As I searched, they said "We can give you the information you need, but you must register in order to view it" The cost was just 6.99 a month, and you can cancel your subscription at any time. I thought that the info was well worth 6.99 and so signed up, with a view to cancelling almost immediately. I was very annoyed to see 70 go from my bank account a day later! The subscription is a MINIMUM of ONE YEAR! It says in the small print that you can't have a refund if more than seven days have past since you registered. Is there someone I can report them to? I know it's in the terms and conditions, but I didn't see it, so it can't be clear enough. So, if you're thinking of registering - just be careful!
there is an option to pay monthly, you must have either not unticked the annual subscription box or ticked it yourself. This is an amazing site and there is so much you can use it for.
If it said you could cancel your subscription at any time in the advert, probably yes you could cancel, if you were paying monthly of course.
i think that's what I'm so cross at - the fact that it was my own stupid fault!
Oh well, i suppose I might as well try and find out if my ancestors were as dim!
