I am looking for some help. My uncle was a Mr Paul Haydon, he died aged 33 on Saturday 23 May 1998. Diving the wreck of the Afric. His death was registered somewhere by his partner and we dont know where. He lived in Essex most of his life.

It would mean so much to his mother who has been searching long and hard being knocked back all of the time, paying fee anter fee getting no where. I could really do with some help, anything, i will owe you everything if anyone out there can help. Thankyou x

I posted the following to UK diver newsgroups last week. As Paul was an =
occasional contributer to these lists it was suggested that I copy the =
post to Techdiver/Cavers.

>>I,m sad to inform you that the diver who was lost on Saturday 23 May =
was Paul
Haydon from Essex UK.

He was diving the Afric which is 77m to the seabed, low water.=20

An unsuccessful search of the rear half of the Afric was carried out on
Sunday.

Teresa and I found him yesterday (Monday 25 May) at approx' 1530, in the =
fwd half
of the wreck at 72m. We attached lift bags and sent him to the surface,
where he was recovered by a police RIB.

We could not see any obvious cause of death.

A fund has been set up to help pay for funeral and legal costs.

yea we have tried but no1 knows. We cant get in touch with his partner. The info given is as far as they know. At a major loss. thankyou x
but there was a coroners inquest, and that would have been the devon county coroner, the death would nhave been registered at Plymouth register office, the inquest would have been held initially and adjourned for an enquiry, ring the coroner.
