The 1911 census shows my Great Grandparents as having a foster child in there care. Are any records available that could shed light on this arrangement

More than likely this would indicate that your Great Grandparents had a close relationship with a local Chapel or possibly a Church. I suggest you look at an OS map for the area to identify a possible Parish or Chapelry and then search at your local CRO for information. I wonder if they were Welsh?

Thanks Dot, they were living in Shropshire and were English. I doubt if they had any religious ties but I'll look anyway.
At the time you mention my mother was a foster child. She and two oher children were fostered through a local hospital. this was a long term arrangement, and provided my mother with a very happy home. In due course we came to love her foster mother as a well loved grandmother.
