^ That is ust the records in the national archive, there are dozens of forums, regimental archive sites, rolls of honour on line, etc, you could start with the link above and work from there.

If you use the archive information leaflets online you will find out what is extant, what is closed, what sorts of lists might be of use.
Are you looking for a specific serviceman's record of service?

Yes for a John (Jack) Melvin, who was (I believe) a Royal Marine Commando.

the national Archives covers the Royal Marines up to the mid 1920s, later records are searchable but not online, if you read thru this page right to the end:
