Check with the travel agent?
the Clan McLean or the Seydlitz maybe? Both arrived in Fremantle that day
funny I can't find anything for either harry/henry or grace - do you have dates of birth for either of them?
Question Author
they came from gloucestershire so would have sailed from southern england
Question Author
i think harry was born around 1865 not sure
Question Author
harry was born in 1855 and grace in 1862
sorry sammo I can only find 30 passengers with the surname Holder going to Australia, between 1910 and 1912 and only 2 went to Freemantle.
Frederick in 1910 and John in 1912.
I'm surprised they emigrated actually considering that in 1911 they appeared to have a flourishing market garden business with Grace running the florists side, and 3 of the children employed there.
Question Author
thanks for trying craft1948.. yes he was a market gardener but went on to have his own farm in perth not bad for someone starting a new life in a different country at the ripe old age of 57 ay..
sammo there are at least 3 members on ancestry with this couple in their tree, but none of them show anything after 1901, not even the 1911.
I've found a walter holder arriving in sydney in 1914 aged 21 who sailed from London on the Commonwealth, but henry and grace's son walter should have been 2 years younger.
There's a miss Grace L Holder arriving in Hull in 1938 aged 50, on the Largs Bay from Australia, she's about the right age for their eldest daughter.
But like the others there seems to be no recorded arrival or departure, that suggests that your uncle worked his passage with his family, perhaps the eldest sons did too,
